I have been in Charlotte for over 20 years and even before I was in real estate I enjoyed attending the annual HomeArama events sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Charlotte.  The style of the events have varied from very modest homes to the mega mansions that draw the crowds.  For people interested in building or remodeling, it is a great opportunity to see the latest and greatest in design, appliances and decorating.

This year's event in being held in Cornelius at Robbins Park. Simonini Builders is the sole builder this year and sent Realtors this info about the event:

With only 7 weeks until the September 25 kick off for HomeArama 2010 at Robbins Park, we are thrilled with the progress and designs. All five homes being built from the Simonini Builders Island Collection are now finished and landscaping is in! Interior design work is now started with the first home nearly finished and others coming along quickly. This is proving to become one of the most exciting home shows ever - last week 22 participants selected for a private on-site focus group walk-through felt exactly that way.

Allen Norwood, the editor of the home section for the Charlotte Observer invited the public to participate in a pre-HomeArama focus group to see the homes and discuss ideas for the show. From that article, over 200 people responded and 22 were selected to come out to Robbins Park last week and see first-hand how things are shaping up. The comments were unbelie vable, "Loved the open plans", "It's about time for Charlotte to have this", "loved the outdoor spaces - very inviting", "loved the islands", "great concept, just what we are looking for", "love the light-filled rooms", "love the style of the large windows", "most doable HomeArama".

The first home is nearly fully decorated. Timelessly elegant and glamorous, yet remarkably relaxed, sums up the Hatteras. With the next homes designed as chic-comfortable contemporary, casual elegant and traditional with a modern twist, each is sure to be distinct and exciting.

Each of the five homes has been designed for right-sized luxury today, by noted architect Bassenian-Lagoni, out of Newport Beach California with exteriors by famed home designer, Stephen Fuller. Combining these two firms' talents, which has never been done before, produced truly magical homes.
